As Leapmotor’s new flagship model targeting the high-end MPV market, Leapmotor D99 2026 adopts the brand’s exclusive new flagship MPV design language. From the front to the rear, the complete design philosophy not only delivers the commanding presence expected from a large and medium-sized MPV, but also achieves a balance between aerodynamics, everyday practicality, and refined details.
The front fascia creates a wide and stable visual stance through a design approach that stretches the visual center outward on both sides. A full-width intelligent daytime running light strip spans across the entire front, while the main headlight units on both sides feature the brand’s latest-generation digital matrix lighting technology, integrating 220 independent LED light sources. It supports adaptive high-beam zone adjustment and dynamic welcome light carpet effects, providing both practical lighting performance for daily driving and a sense of ceremony for passenger reception scenarios. The lower section of the front bumper is equipped with an active air intake grille, which automatically opens and closes according to the real-time cooling requirements of the electric drive system and battery. This not only optimizes the aerodynamic performance of the front end and keeps the vehicle’s drag coefficient at an excellent level, but also provides an efficient thermal management channel for the high-voltage three-electric system, ensuring stable power output under complex driving conditions.
In terms of dimensions, Leapmotor D99 reaches 5280×1995×1900mm in length, width, and height, with a wheelbase extending to 3110mm. The ultra-long wheelbase combined with a short front overhang and spacious cabin layout maximizes the passenger space in the second and third rows. The side profile adopts a zero-gap flush side door design, creating an integrated and smooth surface between the windows and decorative panels, effectively reducing high-speed wind noise while further improving driving efficiency. Two smooth waistlines run from the headlights all the way to the rear, combined with a floating D-pillar and obsidian contrasting roof design, adding more sophistication to the square-shaped MPV body and creating richer visual layers. In terms of configuration, the entire range comes standard with hidden electric door handles and dual-side silent electric sliding doors. The sliding door opening is spacious, and the step height is as low as 372mm, allowing elderly passengers and children to get in and out easily without excessive bending or stepping. The rear windows are equipped with privacy glass as standard, effectively blocking direct sunlight while ensuring passenger privacy.
The rear design highly echoes the front styling. The full-width LED taillight extends horizontally to both sides of the body, with a newly added dynamic sequential turn signal effect inside the light housing. Once illuminated, the refined visual effect places it among the top level of MPVs in the same class. The Leapmotor brand logo in the center of the taillight can also illuminate simultaneously, creating outstanding recognition in nighttime traffic. The tailgate adopts an electric hands-free opening design, with a small spoiler naturally integrated into the upper edge, improving aerodynamic downforce at high speeds and enhancing driving stability. At the same time, it maintains the practical square MPV body structure and ensures excellent vertical cargo loading capability. The rear bumper adopts a layered design that echoes the front-end styling, giving the entire vehicle a stronger sense of unity and a higher level of design completeness.
