On June 29,
BYD officially launched the all-new flagship MPV under its Linghui brand—
the Linghui M9. The new model is currently available in two variants: the
1105 Luxury Edition and the 1105 Premium Edition, while the 1163 Flagship Edition equipped with the DiSus chassis system will be introduced at a later date. Positioned as a mid-to-large plug-in hybrid MPV for both business and family use, the Linghui M9 is designed to excel in three key scenarios: government and corporate reception, business travel, and multi-child family transportation. The vehicle is powered by BYD's fifth-generation DM Super Hybrid system, offering a CLTC pure electric range of 145 km, a combined driving range of 1,105 km with a full tank and a fully charged battery, and a fuel consumption of only 4.95 L/100 km under battery-depleted conditions. It provides the flexibility of all-electric commuting in urban environments while eliminating range anxiety during long-distance journeys.
Its exterior design blends the aesthetics of traditional Chinese landscape art with modern styling, while the cabin emphasizes comfort, practicality, and a premium ambience. Standard equipment includes dual power sliding doors, second-row independent captain's chairs, and an
L2.9 advanced intelligent driving assistance system. The suspension features FSD variable damping shock absorbers, while higher trims can be equipped with the DiSus-C Intelligent Body Control System. Let's take a closer look.First, let's examine the exterior design of the new vehicle. The front fascia of the Linghui M9 follows a balanced design philosophy that suits both family and business users, avoiding overly aggressive styling. A wide chrome trim stretches across the entire front end, with the illuminated Linghui logo positioned prominently at the center, visually enhancing the vehicle's width and road presence.
The split LED headlight clusters on both sides blend seamlessly into the chrome trim. Inside the headlamp units, multiple dynamic lighting effects are integrated, creating a sequential welcome animation when the vehicle is unlocked, adding a strong sense of ceremony. The lower front bumper is equipped with an active grille shutter. During normal urban driving, the grille automatically closes to reduce aerodynamic drag, while at higher speeds or during sustained high-power output, it opens automatically to improve cooling efficiency, balancing energy efficiency with powertrain stability.Moving to the side profile, the Linghui M9's spacious proportions are immediately evident. The straight roofline maximizes headroom for all three rows of seats. The signature "Youlong Yuedong" character line extends smoothly from the front fender to the rear taillights, creating a clean and elegant profile while emphasizing the vehicle's stable stance. All versions come standard with dual power sliding doors, featuring an opening width of
800 mm and a low step-in height of just
350 mm, allowing elderly passengers, children, and business guests to enter and exit comfortably without excessive bending. The B- and C-pillars are finished in black, creating a floating roof effect. Rear passengers benefit from standard privacy and heat-insulating glass, which effectively blocks ultraviolet rays while reducing outside noise. The concealed sliding door tracks further enhance the clean, uninterrupted appearance of the body side. The entire lineup rides on 18-inch multi-spoke noise-reducing alloy wheels. The high-profile tires improve ride comfort by absorbing road imperfections while also delivering excellent durability for everyday driving. Finally, let's look at the rear design.
The rear continues the vehicle's composed and sophisticated styling. A full-width LED taillight spans the entire width of the tailgate, featuring a matrix-style internal lighting structure that creates a highly layered visual effect when illuminated, echoing the lighting signature of the front end.A large roof spoiler is mounted above the rear window. The rear glass is set at a moderate angle, helping optimize airflow at highway speeds without significantly reducing the vertical cargo space of the luggage compartment. The lower rear bumper is finished with a large silver skid plate, complemented by decorative dual exhaust outlets on both sides. This design prevents the rear from appearing overly conservative while adding just the right touch of sporty character.
