Release Date : 2026-10-26
BYD's premium brand Denza confirmed on October 22 that non-binding customer reservations for the all-new, all-electric Denza N8 will open on October 26, 2026, with the commercial launch and customer deliveries scheduled for November 2026. Denza general manager Li Hui made the announcement on Weibo, ending weeks of speculation triggered by a teaser screen showing the date "10.26".
The new N8 is a clean-sheet, five-seat large SUV built on BYD's e-Platform 3.0 Evo. Its headline number is a 1,003 km CLTC pure-electric range, delivered by a 130.15 kWh second-generation LFP Blade Battery, paired with BYD's 1,500 kW Flash Charging architecture that tops the pack from 10% to 70% in five minutes and 10% to 97% in nine minutes. A tri-motor flagship delivers 890 kW (1,210 PS) through an all-wheel-drive system marketed as "e3".

From PHEV Crossover to a Pure-Electric "King of Large Five-Seaters"
The N8 nameplate is not new. The original Denza N8 arrived in August 2023 as a plug-in hybrid with six- and seven-seat configurations, and has since been discontinued in its petrol-combined form. The 2026 successor is an all-electric reset: Denza is positioning it as "the king of large five-seat pure electric vehicles", explicitly targeting buyers who want generous rear legroom and a large cargo bay rather than a third row.
At 5,150 mm long on a 3,075 mm wheelbase, the N8 is 50 mm shorter bumper-to-bumper than the six-seat N8L but shares the same width, height and wheelbase. The removed third row is reinvested into rear passenger space and luggage volume. Roof-mounted LiDAR, BYD's dual-chamber air suspension system and rear-wheel steering with a 4.58 m turning radius are listed on higher trims.
Three Powertrains, From Long Range to 1,210 PS Flagship
Chinese regulatory filings list three configurations. The two rear-wheel-drive variants use a single permanent-magnet synchronous motor rated at 320 kW (435 PS) or 370 kW (503 PS). The flagship "e3" tri-motor AWD model combines a 270 kW front motor with two 310 kW rear motors, producing a system output of 890 kW (1,210 PS) — enough for a sub-4-second 0–100 km/h sprint. All versions are electronically limited to a 240 km/h top speed.
Curb weights range from 2,725 kg (320 kW RWD) to 2,995 kg (tri-motor AWD). Tires staggered as standard: 255/50 R20 at the front and 275/45 R20 at the rear.
130.15 kWh Blade 2.0 Battery and the 9-Minute Top-Up
The headline pack is a 130.15 kWh LFP Blade Battery 2.0 supplied by BYD subsidiary FinDreams Battery, delivering a certified CLTC range of 1,003 km. A smaller 105.792 kWh pack is also listed, with the model line-up covering four certified range figures: 800, 840, 970 and 1,003 km. The largest pack is the sole path to the four-digit number.
The more important story for long-distance drivers is charging. BYD's 1,500 kW-class Flash Charging architecture pushes a compatible N8 from 10% to 70% in about five minutes and from 10% to 97% in nine minutes — figures that close much of the practical gap between a large EV and a petrol SUV on a long trip. Real-world WLTP figures will necessarily be lower than the CLTC numbers; CarNewsChina estimates roughly 750–800 km on the more stringent cycle.
Cabin: 30-Inch Center Screen and a 1.1-Metre PHUD
Inside, the N8 abandons the traditional instrument cluster in favour of a 1.1-metre (43-inch) panoramic head-up display (PHUD) projected below the windshield, paired with a single 30-inch center infotainment screen that spans most of the passenger-side dashboard. A crystal floating gear selector, door-mounted control islands and a flowing ambient-light strip complete the minimalist, light-luxury theme. Denza has also announced three new exterior colours for the N8: Aurora Green, Deep Space Blue and Solar Orange.
Pricing and What to Expect in November
Denza has not yet announced N8 EV pricing ahead of the October 26 reservation opening. The six-seat N8L EV, which uses the same 130.15 kWh Blade pack and a 960 km CLTC range, starts near USD 42,000 and tops out around USD 46,200. Industry watchers expect the five-seat N8 to land in a similar — or slightly lower — window once it reaches showrooms in November.
