On 15th October, the all-new Wey Gaoshan 7 officially launched. Like the previously released Gaoshan 8 and Gaoshan 9, it is offered in a single specification variant with an official guidance price of US$40,000. Equipped with Great Wall's Hi4 electric four-wheel drive technology, it boasts a WLTC pure electric range of 172km and is positioned as a mid-to-large MPV.
Regarding the Gaoshan 7's overall design, it continues the family's signature aesthetic. A large chrome grille vertically spans the entire front fascia, featuring vertically arranged chrome trim elements that create a strong visual impact. Similarly, the signature full-width rear light clusters employ vertically oriented lamp units, delivering high visual recognition when illuminated.

In terms of dimensions, the Gaoshan 7 measures 5050mm in length, 1960mm in width, and 1900mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3085mm. Positioned as a mid-to-large MPV, the reduction in body and wheelbase dimensions results in what I personally perceive as a more harmonious overall silhouette.
Consistent with its exterior, the Gaoshan 7's cabin adopts the same design language as the Gaoshan 8 and Gaoshan 9. A 12.3-inch floating digital instrument cluster pairs with a dual-screen setup comprising a 15.6-inch central infotainment display and a passenger-side entertainment screen, effectively establishing a tech-forward ambience. The infotainment system runs Coffee OS 3, featuring six-zone voice interaction capabilities alongside wireless smartphone connectivity and gesture control functionality.

The front seats are upholstered in Nappa leather, featuring ventilation, heating, and massage functions. Manual sunshades are fitted to both second and third-row windows, while the cabin includes a 12.5-litre climate-controlled storage compartment and a 17.3-inch 3K rear-seat entertainment screen.
Naturally, as an MPV, rear seat comfort is a key consideration for buyers. Unlike the Gaoshan 8 and 9, the Gaoshan 7's second row eschews zero-gravity seats in favour of independent leisure seats with adjustable armrests. Seat massage and third-row electric adjustment have been omitted, though zero-gravity second-row seats remain available as an optional extra. In my view, this represents one of the Gaoshan 7's most significant shortcomings. Considering the new Sienna now comes standard with second-row zero-gravity seats, the Gaoshan 7's approach of offering them as optional extras is frankly regrettable.
Regarding driver assistance systems, the Highlander 7 comes standard with the Coffee Pilot Ultra system. Equipped with 27 sensors—including one lidar, three millimetre-wave radars, and twelve ultrasonic sensors—paired with the NVIDIA Orin X intelligent driving chip, it enables features such as Urban NOA, Highway NOA, remote parking, and trace reverse.
Powertrain-wise, the Gaoshan 7 employs the Hi4 Performance powertrain. This system comprises a 1.5T engine paired with dual front and rear electric motors and a 4-speed DHT transmission, delivering a combined output of 337kW and 644N·m of torque. Mated to a 44.28kWh battery pack, it achieves a WLTC pure electric range of 172km.
Overall, compared to the previously launched Gaoshan 8 and Gaoshan 9, the Gaoshan 7 clearly prioritises family usage. Its powertrain, range, equipment, and overall vehicle intelligence are all well-equipped. The only notable drawback is the optional second-row zero-gravity seats. However, when compared to numerous competitors in its class, the Gaoshan 7 delivers a solid overall performance. It is expected to significantly contribute to boosting the Gaoshan family's overall sales in the future.
