SAIC Volkswagen lavida XR New Elite officially launched

On June 13, the SAIC Volkswagen Land Rover New Elite was officially launched. The new car is offered in two configurations with a price range of 9.999 to 109.999 million yuan.

The new car is positioned as a compact sedan, but has been reduced in size compared to the current Land Rover. The interior is also further streamlined, with both screens inline rather than the hovering layout of the VW-branded EV. The size is small, but equipped with phone mapping features such as wireless CarPlay.

Power part, the new car is equipped with a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine with a maximum power of 110 hp and a maximum torque of 141N-m, matched with a 6-speed manual transmission. The chassis adopts front MacPherson + rear torsion beam structure.

In fact, the Rangie Sunrise is a prototype of the Volkswagen Virtus, a mid-engineered model that made its debut in February this year and will be built in India on the Volkswagen MQB A0 platform for sale in more than 25 emerging market countries, including India.

The main competitors facing the new Lang Yi include cost effective Chinese branded sedans such as the Diao, Airizawa 5 and Yidian, as well as highly equipped, economical and personalised new energy models such as the Qin PLUS and Seagull. With the partial streamlining of dimensions and interiors, coupled with the discounts generally offered on the current Ranger, the new Ranger will most likely also achieve further value for money through discounts. It should be noted, however, that as new energy prices dip further, the competitive pressure on pure fuel models is increasing further, not to mention that the compact entry-level car is still one of the most competitive segments in the domestic market.
