On July 9, the all-new all-electric high-performance sports car, the
DENZA Z, officially debuted at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the United Kingdom. Built on
BYD's in-house developed technology platform, the new model is available in three versions: Coupe, Convertible, and Track Edition. The DENZA Z features an aerodynamic body design, an advanced intelligent cockpit, a fully steer-by-wire chassis, and a tri-motor all-electric powertrain. It is positioned as a premium electric sports car from a Chinese brand, targeting luxury high-performance sports cars from overseas manufacturers.
In terms of exterior design, the
DENZA Z adopts the "Pure Emotion" design philosophy. The body features flowing, sculpted lines that emphasize a fluid aesthetic, while the entire vehicle is equipped with a comprehensive aerodynamic package. Its low-slung, wide-body stance delivers a classic sports car profile with a distinctly performance-oriented appearance. The front fascia adopts a closed grille design, complemented by blade-shaped LED teardrop headlights. The hood integrates three-dimensional air ducts to improve cooling efficiency and reduce aerodynamic drag.
From the side, the vehicle is equipped with aerodynamic side skirts featuring air blades and airflow channels designed to optimize airflow along the body during driving. According to the official specifications, the dimensions vary slightly depending on the version. The Coupe measures
4,780 × 1,990 × 1,350 mm (length × width × height), while the Track Edition has an overall length of 4,870 mm. All versions share a 2,780 mm wheelbase. The wide body, low ride height, and flat-mounted battery pack create a classic sports car architecture.
At the rear, the DENZA Z features a full-width LED taillight and a performance-oriented rear diffuser designed to increase downforce at high speeds and enhance vehicle stability. The Coupe is equipped with a carbon-fiber roof and an electrically adjustable rear wing that automatically changes its angle according to vehicle speed. The Convertible version adopts a fully automatic folding soft-top roof, which integrates seamlessly into the rear bodywork when retracted. Meanwhile, the Track Edition comes with a large fixed rear wing and widened racing-style aerodynamic components, specifically optimized for circuit driving. For the wheels, customers can choose between
20-inch and 21-inch sport wheels, along with multiple brake caliper color options.
